8tracks Radio App Reviews

I downloaded this app and didn’t mind paying the low price for the upgrade to Pro but soon found that after clicking anything once the application froze and I had to force quit it. This leaves me force quitting the app about four times before I can play anything decent. Please do something about this! Would take my money back if I could.

With the new update I cannot use my keyboards, the application won’t recognise it. I tried searching by tags and it didn’t let me. The previous version was worse off, but with the update I cannot even use the search option.

It won’t let me open the app. I finally was able to when I went to the app store and searched 8tracks and opened the app that way, however, it still doesn’t recognize the app as opened on the Dock.

This app refuses to let me type in my username and password. The cursor blinks in the box but I just get that “Nope” sound a macBook makes. I tried closing it, opening it. I haven’t had a chance to restart my computer. Maybe that will be the magic fix but judging by other people’s problems, I doubt it.

You can’t even do something as basic as view your liked tracks… Every option except “explore” is locked to the paid version… I also had the same issue with not being able to login after the first run. You need to kill -9 the process from terminal and then launch it again… Not worth the bother if you ask me; you’re better off using the browser version since this is a desktop version anyways...

First I had to keep installing, deleting, then re-installing the app because it wouldn’t let me log in. When I was able to log in, I realized you have to pay for literally every feature. I think that’s pretty misleading for a ‘free’ app. Just use the actual website instead

This app is awesome on iOS, but in OS X El Capitan some glitch is preventing the app from opening, or stopping it somewhere in the process. The system thinks it is open and running, which means the application file cannot be deleted until after a reboot.

I really loved this app on my computer and used it as my go-to music source for a long time. For a one time- payment to get the full features it made finding the music I love so easy and I always had access to great playlists to listen to while I worked. Unfortunately, in the past few months it has started to get glitchy and will work upon start up and then has all kinds of problems with being unresponsive after about a half-hour. I have to exit the program and completely restart it, and even then it is incredibly slow to respond. It needs a few updates & I’m hoping it can be great again!

I’ve loved the premise behind this site and have been a long time listener. I found 8tracks to be a good place for people to present their creativity. And as a frequent traveller, 8tracks was the one place to go for great music without a hefty price tag. However, the company behind it has always been lackluster. It was the community that made it great. Now, because international listeners won’t be able to tune in, the company has finally interfered with the community.

Unable to login. By that I mean it is impossible for me to actually type my login credentials on launch. I tried a bunch of ways to try and trick it. Too bad, I really wanted to use it.

Search function still is not responding to typing. Other than this it’s ok.

Used to work fine, a bit balky but OK. Then just stopped working altogether.
